A locator map in which Municipio I, the historic centre including Vatican City, is coloured red.
On this overview of the municipi of Rome, the red area sits at the heart of the city and crosses the Tiber, with a lobe on the west bank. The surrounding districts stay grey, and a 0 to 20 km scale bar helps judge how compact the historic centre is.
