A coloured plan in Latin places Nero's palace among the Palatine, the Oppius, the Colossus and the Horti of Maecenas.
Latin captions identify the Palatine, the Oppius, the Colossus of Nero, the Domus Tiberiana, the Domus Augusti and the Horti Maecenatis. The plan shows the palace as a spread of buildings and grounds across several hills.
