Sources and content removal
The maps on this site come from many origins: plans scanned from printed works, diagrams published by institutions and public-transport operators, screen captures of online map services, and old engravings and plates.
When a mark, logo or credit is legible on an image, it is repeated under the map after the word Source. Screen captures of online map services carry the mention © Google Maps. Old plans, engravings and plates that belong to the public domain are labelled as such. When no mark can be read on an image, no source is shown.
Some images were collected years ago and their exact origin can no longer be traced. This does not make them free of rights: the rights remain with their owners.
To report a map, ask for a credit to be corrected or request the removal of an image, use the contact section of the Neweb Network website, linked below, and give the address of the page and a short explanation. An image can be unpublished while its status is being checked.
